dreamin'

I had a pretty frightening dream last night.
I was with my husband and kids at the church for some kind of ward party. It was pretty quiet. Somebody's cell phone rang. Then another. All of the sudden tons of cell phones were ringing. I thought something major must be going on. The windows started to darken. I looked out to see an enormous funnel cloud coming right for us. I immediately tried to gather up my family. I had Henry and Trent had Charlotte, but Tucker was running down the hall. The windows started to shatter so I dropped to the ground covering my baby. Amazingly we were all okay and I found Tucker and told him not to leave my side for the rest of the day. Things seemed to go back to normal and we were outside the church down a steep hill playing at the beach. Then the sky started to darken again. I asked Trent to help me get the kids up this very steep sand hill. He handed me the kids and I trudged up the hill with all three of them and no help. The sky was getting light so Trent decided to stay on the beach. I was not taking any chances and continued to hurry indoors to the church. Sure enough as soon as we were inside the storm was returning. I hurried my kids into a large room with only a couple small windows. I wanted to avoid the glass as much as possible. My friend Amanda and her little family were in there too. They helped me cover my children as once more a huge tornado passed over us shaking the walls, breaking the windows. It was awful, I could hear people screaming and running all around us. We were okay, but where was my husband? I asked Amanda to stay with my children while I went to look for him. I stepped outside to see a huge wave rushing back into the ocean pulling several people with it. I was yelling out for Trent, sobbing uncontrollably. I just kept yelling his name over and over. Finally, I saw him. He was crawling out of the water. He was alive!

It was right about then that I was awoken by henry crying. I was so upset. And relieved. It had been so real! But I was still mad at Trent for not helping me with the kids and for staying outside when it was so dangerous. Does anyone else have freaky dreams like me that leave you emotionally drained when you wake up?

Just thought I would share my crazy dream. Happy Halloween.

Spooky

Last week Trent was in Vegas from Tuesday until Friday afternoon on business. He also go to enjoy some fancy shmancy meals and awesome seats at The Blue Man Show.
Friday night we were supposed to go to a Halloween Party. It is the one time a year I get to see some of my favorite people from high school.
Both our babysitter and our back up sitter didn't work out, so I ended up going by myself and Trent stayed home with the kids. It was fine because I think Trent just wanted to lay down and rest. I didn't have a costume and didn't want to go all regular. I remembered that my sister Sarah had dressed up as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas last year, so I grabbed an eyeliner and stitched myself up. Tucker wasn't too fond of my "scary face", but I explained it was just make-up and headed on my way. I really enjoyed seeing my buds and carving pumpkins.
The costumes included Abbie as a lego and her hubby Jake as a Lego man. Jacob as a bee keeper and his wife Sunny as a bee. Jason and his wife Katie in their 50's attire. Bryce as Radiohead and his wife Diana as Modest Mouse. Dustin and his wife Jen as Jim Halpert and Pam. I'm not sure how I forgot to get qa picture of them, Doh!

5 things I want my kids to know

Thank you Nancyface! She has awarded me with this

About this award: "Presented to awesome blog owners who keep their readers excited about their posts. Their blog posts are interesting and worth reading and keep their readers looking forward to each and every post."

I would like to pass it on to: Abbie, Stephanie, and Caroline

Technically I look forward to everyone's blog who is on my link list. So it is for all y'all.

Nancyface also tagged me for a meme a few days back. sorry I'm so slow.

What 5 things do I want my kids to know when they leave my home and enter the real world. It's hard not to say what has already been said by others.

1. I would like them to know that I know the church is true and hope that they would have gained their own testimony of the truthfulness of it and it's principles and that by living them they can be truly happy.

2. I will have to also repeat others by saying that I want them to understand what a huge decision marriage is. I hope that they will be very prayerful and logical in whom they choose to marry. I know that is hard to do when you're in love. I believe that you can be in love with someone and that someone still may not be the right person for you to marry. I hope that they will consider it to be very important to marry someone to whom they can solve problems with, communicate with, and be their best self with, as well as love. Having said that, I also want them to know that no marriage is perfect. It takes a lot of work.

3. I want them to know that I love them unconditionally. That will never change. I don't think I can ever fully express the love that I feel for them. Sometimes when I look at them I am so overwhelmed by it that I am brought to tears. It is so amazing.

4. I want them to know how to work. I want them to know the appreciation you have for things when you earn them.

5. I want them to know that intelligence and knowledge is priceless. I want them to always keep trying to learn and grow mentally and emotionally.

I would like to tag anyone who thought of things they would like their kids to know while reading this. Especially Emily, Stephanie, Mel , and Tori
If you guys don't want to, don't worry, be happy. I won't cry.

Tucker: " Umm, twenty-nine."

Matching Handsomeness

Saturday was Tucker's first soccer game of the season. He spent all but 30 seconds of it pouting on the blanket.

Hopefully next week will be better.

Charlotte helped me lotion up Henry after his bath on Saturday afternoon.

Then we all headed to grab some dinner and get some groceries.

Sunday the boys wore their matching shirts! This will probably be the only time they got to sport them together since Henry is growing so fast!

Forget about it

Thank you for all the kind, supportive comments. I am deleting that post, as I would like to not think about it anymore and just try to forget about it.
I do want to clear up that I was not trying to accuse anyone in that picture or not of making that comment. I have no idea who made it, and although I think it sounds like someone who knew me, that could be any of 1000's who went to highschool with me.

6 things

So, Briana tagged me to tell you all 6 things about me. Interesting things, which may be a bit hard, since most everyone who reads this knows me pretty well and may find it most uninteresting. Anyhow, I know I am a pretty lame blogger and mostly use it as a journal, so maybe this will spice things up a bit. Cinnamon spicey, not red hot chili pepper flake spicey.

1. Food things. I love food and am not picky at all. About raisins though, I believe they belong in their natural state. I only like raisins plain or in raisin bran. I don't think raisins belong in cookies, pudding, or breads. I love bread, except banana bread. Also I don't like curry and thai food in general. Don't hate.

2. Art. I love it in many forms. I love fashion as an art, interior design as an art, art history and well, regular paint and drawing art. I took art all through high school and even took a Life Drawing class in college which was drawing nude models. My first nude sighting.

3. I am a procrastinator. I have a difficult time being on time. I hate that about myself.

4. My body. I am a pear. Big booty, small boobies. I love lifting weights and other strength training. I hate cardio. I love food and have no will power when it comes to modifying my diet. Help!

5. My job. I love being a mom. I love babies. I love the funny things kids say and do. I love the way my kids motivate me to be a better, stronger, more spiritual uplifting person. As for homemaking. I am not the greatest. I hate folding and putting away laundry. I hate cleaning. But I do love a clean house and the way Trent is so happy when it is clean. I don't mind cooking, but I am not that great. I am slowly, very slowly, improving and adding new recipes to my bag of tricks. I am learning to sew a little. Mostly straight lines. I am testing my skills at decorating, you guessed it, slowly.

6. I am frugal. Okay, cheap. I was raised that way and I like finding a deal. I rarely pay more than $20 for a pair of jeans. I go straight for clearance racks. I used to shop at thrift stores quite often, but haven't had any cash to do so lately. I do pretty well at staying within a budget. I'd say for having three kids to feed and clothe and house, that my spending is pretty darn good.

Well, I guess that's all. Sorry I couldn't think of anything more interesting at the moment.

Party Hardy

What a weekend!
Thursday I needed to make a trip to Costco for the stuff for the luncheon on Sunday. Grandma Terrie took Henry while I made the trip with the other 2 monkeys (kids, that is). We enjoyed many samples and Costco style dinner. Then we picked up Henry ran to the house to meet Trent and get Tucker changed and went to his soccer practice. After some whining we finally got him to join in the practice. After we came home and got the kids ready for bed Henry and I went way out to Queen Creek for an old friends baby shower.

Friday night was spent mostly cleaning in preparation for Sunday. Trent finished painting the unfinished portion of the wall where it meets the ceiling in our living room, kitchen, and family room. Wow, it looks great!
Karen cut and colored my hair! I will post pictures later, we still have some adjustments to make.

Saturday morning was more cleaning and laundry and sorting. I sanded some nightstands my mom had given us and Trent painted them black. They turned out really nice. Our nephew Kade was having a kid party for his 9th birthday at this big gymnastics center. We went and everyone had a great time swinging on ropes, bars and rings, jumping on trampolines, and jumping into a big foam filled pit. Trent and his brothers and Dad all wore themselves out doing various tricks. After 2 years of not working out Trent had no trouble climbing up the rope with his legs sticking strait out and also climbing it upside down. What a hottie! I couldn't even do one pull-up, but I am sore from busting out a few push-ups. Pathetic.
On the way home we stopped to grab Kade's present for his Sunday family dinner. We also had to stop and fill up on gas. By the time we got home and got the kids in bed we still had lots to do. Trent had to run to his brother's house and his Mom's to get tables, chairs and tablecloths. We set them up in our empty front room. Then Trent got to hanging stuff on the walls and I got to folding the largest heap of laundry I've ever seen. Man was I tired by the time we tucked in bed.

Sunday morning we enjoyed some snuggle time in the bed before getting out to finish our final preparations. Shredding pork, bathing kids, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, etc. We finally got out the door 10 minutes before our 10 O'clock meeting. Luckily Trent's family had seats saved and we got settled in. Henry looked adorable and Trent did a wonderful job giving his Blessing. I was so emotional. It was so fun to see my little brother Mark there in the circle. After listening to a few long winded story/testimonies I finally got to share mine about 5 minutes before the meeting ended. As usual I turned into a big baby.
Well we headed over to my house with our families and enjoyed a fantastic lunch of green chili pork burritos, Dusti's 7-layer dip, Chili's chips and salsa and bean dip compliments of Jennifer and my dad's yummy Pizoli (Mexican pork soup) and delicious fruit from Terrie. Mmmm.
Trent's family cleaned my whole kitchen while I was saying goodbye's (how awesome are they!)

After a little rest, we then headed to Bart and Dusti's for Kade's birthday dinner. It was perfect outdoor weather and it was a fabulous finish to a busy weekend!

Summary

Claire spent the night on Friday.

Saturday I was feeling pretty down.

Sunday went to Jill's baby Jordyn's blessing.

Monday night went to a Golden Canyon candle party and WalMart with Andrea.

Last night my wonderful brother Mark watched Tucker and Charlotte so That Trent and I could go on a double date with Mel and Robby. It was a much needed night out with my husband. Mel and Robby are both so funny, we had a really great time. We ate at Texas Road House and then went bowling. I didn't have socks on and Trent came to the rescue with a pair he had stored inn the back seat of his truck!
